BIBA Scholarships

We encourage current and prospective students to apply for our scholarships.
BIBA is committed to providing a wide range of learning opportunities across all areas of the curriculum,nurturing individual students'potential and providing diverse learning opportunities.
Our scholarships have been established to acknowledge and foster the development of students with special talents and to encourage their contributions within the school and wider community. Our scholarships are highly competitive,and are open to current and prospective students.
We invite students with an outstanding academic record to apply for our Acaden High Achievement Scholarship, or those students with special ability or contributin to apply for minor Scholarship.
Scholarships are conditional upon criteria including sound academic pro!ress and active participation in the school's extra-curricular programme. The progress of recipients is reviewed annually.
The offer of a Scholarship is made on the condition that the Student remains eniblled at BlBA until he/she completes their secondary schoolina to the end of Grade 12. lf the Student was to leave the School before that time, the parent/s (or quardian/s) wIl be required to repay the amount of fee remission received up to that time. The Principal may waive this obligation,or reduce the amount required to be repaid, in exceptional ircumstances.

Academic scholarships will only be available for students entering Grade 6, Grade 9 and Grade 11 the focus is on exceptional academic excellence. Students will be examined on Mathematics, Science, Chinese and English.
Please note that students currently holding ongoing scholarships at another school will not be considered.
If shortlisted, (after examination results) the Scholarship applicants are required to upload a copy of their most recent school reports and/or WIDA or School exam/test results to their interview or supply in advance with application. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of examination results and previous school reports. Applications may not be considered without a copy of these results.
Successful candidates will be notified by the School in writing and scholarships must be accepted within the stipulated time. The school’s decision is final and no subsequent discussion will be entered into.

This Scholarship is for those students with exceptionally high artistic, sporting, art, dance, and/or musical talent.
Past achievements and future promise are considered when awarding High Achiever scholarships. Applicants should have sound academic ability and must display qualities consistent with the ethos of the school. Students who excel in an area such as visual and creative arts, music & sport are encouraged to apply.
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of examination results, an interview, previous school reports and auditions (Piano, Music and Vocal only) and other information such as art portfolios, referrals and videos of sport/dance/drama performance.
Contribution to performing arts (music, arts, dance)
Sporting achievements
Leadership and contribution to school life and the wider community.
Students who have significant experience and achievement in some or all of these fields are invited to apply. A sound academic standard is also necessary. Award recipients will be required to commit to the school and its co-curricular programmes. The progress of recipients is reviewed annually.
After reviewing all applications and exams, the selection panel invites a shortlist of candidates to attend interviews. Original versions of the student's latest school report and test/examination results must be brought to the interview. Selection is by level of achievement and interview. Successful candidates will be notified by the School in writing and scholarships must be accepted within the stipulated time. The school's decision is final and no subsequent discussion will be entered into.

Minor scholarships are awarded every year. Minor scholarships acknowledge the contributions students have to the school, local and global communities. Below are the following categories:
Contributions to school life: involvement in all facets of the school such as sport, music, choir, clubs, community service, ambassador, external academic competitions, tutoring,volunteering etc.
Environmental scholarship: Individuals who demonstrate a continued commitment to environmental issues, demonstrating accomplishments and contributions in improving awareness and leaders in the implementation of sustainable practices through innovative strategies to improve the environment of the BIBA community.
Business initiative set-up: Implementation of an innovative product, process or service as a solution to problem/challenged being faced by individual or society.
Creative, Active, Service: Involvement in a wide range of activites that involve creative thinking, physical activity, making meaningful contributions to community and society and developing personal and social skills through community service.
BIBA Ambassador: Outstanding service in representing the school to potential families. Assisting with campus tours, offering Q&As with parents and students, attendance at open houses and school fairs and orientation events.
Leadership: Displaying outstanding ability to work well with others, inspiring others, collaborating, modelling 4Rs, demonstrating a commitment to helping others and creating a positive school community.
Students must submit evidence (photos, project proposals), references from staff in relation to the category, a written statement (Chinese or English) on the category outlining contribution. Interviews will also be conducted.
