Dr. Wang holds a Ph.D in International and Comparative Education and has a wealth of experience in educational management. He is the founder of Beijing International Bilingual Academy, president of EduChina, executive director of ‘Show Yes’ Program Center, Chinese Coordinator of the China Education Institute of Columbia University on the ‘Growing Educators’ project. Through all of his involvement in these various organizations, he continues to advocate and pursue excellence in education for all.
Dr. Pang is a senior bilingual education and international curriculum expert. He received his PhD from Hong Kong University and became a senior lecturer in Curriculum there. He worked as the Supervisor in the Department of Curriculum Research and Development of Hong Kong Education Bureau. He was the founding Deputy Principal, founder and supervisor of the kindergarten and elementary school in Hong Kong Institute of Education. He also served as Head of the Academic Department in Logos Academy and Principal in a Direct Subsidy school in Hong Kong. It has been three years since Dr. Pang accepted the invitation from the School Board to provide academic support to BIBA with his rich experience in educational administration and research.
Ms. Ouyang Hua guides BIBA’s leadership and administration team; oversees BIBA’s academic and support functions and ensures that BIBA’s overall financial and operational resources are utilized efficiently to serve BIBA’s students. She has rich international education and educational management experience. She has been the principal of Dell International English Campus, principal of Ambow Educational Group campus, and has numerous overseas exchange and cooperative experiences. As the Vice President of EduChina Group, she is in charge of management of the 8 curriculum districts of EduChina schools. She is also the supervisor of BIBA on behalf of the School Board.
Holding a Doctorate of Education (ABD) in Instructional Leadership, Mr. Bevis has more than 10 years experience in educational administration, teacher development, program development, and teaching in an international and multicultural academic context. He worked as Principal in Tianjin International School and Adjunct Professor at Portland State University. His passion and achieved proficiency for Chinese language and culture are evident with 19 years living in China.
Mr. Guan Xiaobo will oversee Chinese curriculum. He is an expert in teaching and research of Chinese Curriculum for primary education. At BIBA will mainly be in charge of the implementation of Chinese Curriculum in the Elementary School. Mr. Guan started his teaching career in 1984. As an educator and researcher, Mr. Guan has been working on the most beneficial way for children to learn Chinese. Prior to joining BIBA, he has worked as a Chinese teacher, education director and school principal. He also has published more than 20 articles and hosted many academic conferences about Chinese curriculum.
Ms. Corset has been part of BIBA for many years, working in Admissions, Managing Marketing, supporting the PTA and ongoing relationship building with internal and external stakeholders, has given her extensive knowledge of the overall operation of the school. Along with her degree in Social Science and years of experience working in an International environment in Switzerland and now Beijing, she brings a wealth of knowledge to this role.
Mrs. Baddeley holds a Masters of Educational Leadership Degree and a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree with over 30 years of school administration and teaching experience in Australia’s leading Independent Schools. Highly skilled, knowledgeable and engaged in excellent practice, she is an accomplished, dedicated administrator and educator with exceptional abilities to inspire, motivate and direct students and staff. Sharyn brings to BIBA her passion and knowledge of Positive Education, Mindfulness, Strategic Planning and Innovative Curriculum Design with her goals being, to improve the quality of teaching and learning and increase student achievement for all at BIBA.
Mr. Young is from Hamilton, New Zealand. He received his Bachelor of Science with Honours from Lincoln University, New Zealand and obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching Learning from Christchurch College of Education in New Zealand. Prior to coming to China, Mr. Young worked for nearly 10 years in international schools in Japan and Turkey with a breadth of teaching and coordination experiences. He has rich experience in a multicultural educational environment to help guide students to achieve academic success and become global talents with social responsibility.
Ms. Wrenn has over 30 years in teaching and administration experience and holds an M.Ed. from George Mason University, with an emphasis on curriculum and instruction. She has been a principal of bilingual schools both internationally and in the US. She holds a US certification in Administration and Supervision for schools PreK-12 and a teaching certification for elementary and middle school. She also has extensive expertise in Early Childhood Administration and has been the Principal of ECC for a school in Doha, Qatar, for the past three years.
Dr. Good taught music in Atlantic City for 8 years at an Elementary School. He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership for Higher Education from Capella University. Prior to joining the BIBA family, he served as a music teacher, Head of Student Behavior, and Head of Performing Arts for an international School in Shanghai. Dr. Good has directed, produced, and choreographed numerous concerts and musical productions throughout his educational career.
Ms. Cariello is an experienced educator whose career spans from K-12 to higher education, in both the public and private sectors. While at NYU she served as adjunct faculty in the Music Department and taught in the outreach division for the New York Pops. Ms. Cariello has held teaching positions at the Hotchkiss School, Plattsburgh State College, and Kingston City School District.
Ms. Gillan has over 10 years of combined experience in management roles and working in international education, and holds a 1st Class BA Honors, Business and Psychology from the University of Liverpool. She is bilingual herself, has made it a personal mission to raise bilingual children, and is passionate about bilingual and multi-cultural education.
Natasha is passionate about creating people practices that reflect justice, enable trust, honor the cultural diversity of the Chinese and international staff, and build a strong and healthy staff community. She holds an M.Ed. in Human and Organization Development from Vanderbilt University, a Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification, and has over 15 years of experience in Human Resources. In her previous role, she and her teammates won two HR Innovation Awards in Asia for Excellence in Leadership Development and Talent Management in 2015.
Before joining BIBA, Evelyn spent 14 years perfecting the art of being an educator, gaining her Masters in Educational Administration. Accomplishing many roles from classroom teacher, to Math Coach and Instructional Coach, she has delivered programs to students from a variety of backgrounds. Arriving at BIBA, in 2014 she has shown excellence in all areas of her Coaching position.
Mr. Corset is bilingual in English and French. He has more than 14 years teaching experience in Australia, Switzerland and China; and 10 years experience as Athletic Director and been at BIBA for the last 4 years.
Ms. Grace Jung is from Korea. She holds a Korean teaching certificate recognized by the government. Majored in Chinese at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Korea, she further equipped herself with advanced language skills in both English and Chinese. She studied Psychology at Peking University where she focused on the cultural adaption issues faced by Korean overseas students. She actively offers psychological counseling for teenagers and provides various support for the Korean community in Beijing. She has been working in the MSHS administrative office at BIBA since 2011, which has helped her to become familiarized with the administrative work at middle school and high school and international curricula.
After graduation from Minzu University of China, Wang Wei has been a math teacher for 17 years. Wang Wei joined BIBA in 2010. He is recognized as a senior teacher in elementary school and has won prizes such as “Excellent Educator Award” and “Excellent Teacher Award” (awarded by Beijing Private Education System). Trying to work out a feasible approach for math-teaching in bilingual schools, Wang Wei and his team members did a lot research on textbooks and methodologies.
Having been in elementary education for 10 years, Ms. Xing is an experienced Elementary Chinese teacher who is an expert in teaching and research, familiar with the Chinese curriculum. Her active and passionate teaching style is highly praised by students and teachers. Through her 7 years of experience at BIBA, immersed in the joy of learning, dedication and professionalism, Ms. Xing has been diligently reflecting on the unique teaching methods and models of teaching Chinese in international schools.
SarahZhao Director of Chinese Curriculum, Middle and High School
Originally from Beijing, China,Ms. Zhao holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Culture and Literature from Capital Normal University of Beijing and a Master’s degree in Chinese Linguistics and Language Acquisition from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is a passionate high school CLA (Chinese Language Arts) and CSL (Chinese as Second Language) teacher with years of experience in curriculum planning and developing. She loves to travel and explore Chinese culture with students and spend time with family and friends.
Mr. Doherty holds a BA in Culture, Communication and Journalism, a BEd in Secondary Education, and a Masters in Education from the University of Queensland, Australia. He has vast and rich Australian and International school experience, and he is BIBA’s expert and guide with all things involving the IBDP, curriculum implementation and beyond toward university application.
Prior to joining BIBA, Ms. Ren worked in International Kindergarten and International Schools in Beijing. With more than 8 years of marketing and admission experience in International education, she possesses intimate knowledge of the current International educational environment. Her experience covers Early Childhood through High School education. At BIBA she looks forward to helping children and parents see the value of combining International and Traditional Chinese education. She is also studying Education Psychology as part of a graduate degree program.
